Job Summary:
The Exhibit Designer is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the development and implementation of exhibition spaces and displays within the field of architecture. This role requires the ability to create visually appealing and innovative designs while considering functionality, user experience, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the design team to develop and refine exhibition concepts, themes, and narratives.
2. Create detailed design plans, including floor plans, elevation drawings, and 3D renderings, to effectively communicate design ideas.
3. Develop and produce comprehensive design packages, including graphic elements, signage, and multimedia components.
4. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including architects, curators, and craftsmen, to ensure seamless execution of design concepts.
5. Conduct thorough research to stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies relevant to exhibition design.
6. Prepare and present design proposals, including sketches, mood boards, and sample materials, to clients and internal teams.
7. Oversee the production and installation of exhibition elements, ensuring adherence to design specifications and project timelines.
8. Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to source and procure necessary materials and resources.
9. Conduct on-site visits during the construction and installation phase to ensure design integrity and quality control.
10. Maintain accurate project documentation, including design specifications, budgets, and progress reports.
11. Stay updated on emerging technologies and software related to exhibition design to enhance design capabilities and efficiency.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in exhibition design, preferably within the field of architecture.
3. Proficiency in industry-standard design software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering tools.
4. Strong conceptual and visual design skills, with the ability to think creatively and translate ideas into compelling designs.
5. Solid knowledge of architectural principles, materials, and construction techniques.
6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present ideas and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
7. Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
8. Attention to detail and a strong sense of aesthetics to create visually appealing and engaging exhibition designs.
9. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.
10. Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
11. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design-related challenges.
12. Knowledge of accessibility and safety standards related to exhibition design.
